So, it has been quite some time since ive had a layout due to moving and not having the room to make one, but its time to make do with what ive got, i have constructed 2 tables for easier disassembly if i have to pull it apart, it is a tad under 4ft wide, enough for a decent radius curve, and somewhere between 11 and 12 ft long, will update with final measurements. in the next couple days i will add a top to the table, so far its only frames. any suggestions on how to go about that? i had 9mm ply in mind and some extruded foam/polystyrene depending where your from. Anyone have any recommendations over that? will have plenty of pics as i build this along the way and show the tables soon.
Good your back. Looking forward to your pictures of your new layout. Have not had any new posts here in some time or new thread's for that matter. There are people who would like to become members ,but are not able to join. Can you help with this problem?
How can i help with that? I havent been on here for atleast 3 years.
Table is almost complete, decided to go with 7mm ply board and 30mm extruded polystyrene. Styrene is drying, but once dried i will upload some photos
I didn't know if you knew anyone that could help. But anyway it's great your back and it makes it hopeful that other members will stop by as well. Looking forward to your next post and to see your pictures.
I made it back too after a few years away. I have moved twice in the past three years, and had to destroy a couple of layouts in the process. Now I am settled in and have two layouts going in my garage using IKEA tables. Will start posting photos again soon. Just created a new album for these photos.
Looking forward to see your new layout. I have a new shed witch I had electrical put in. I put in insulation and now putting up sheetrock. The shed is 14feet by 30feet . I divided and made a room 14 by 28 to put a new layout as well as a painting studio. Not having a lot of money and being retired it is going to take some time. So I have been without a layout for about 2 years. I really miss work and running my trains.
I know where you are coming from, I only started up the hobby again around 10 years ago after collecting for 30 years. I am trying to organize my photos into albums but I can't seem to move or delete them, kind of frustating. That's a nice size shed you have for your layout, but like you said on a retirement budget it's tough.
I have to get the shed done my wife wants the room I was using cleaned out .She wants to make it into a guest room. I will have to paint as well as move a bed in. I have to get this all done at the same time why'll I am trying to work around all the stuff from the room witch is in my shed now. FUN! I think I'm working harder now then when I had my Job. LOL
