Gustav has found the right track
New Railscenics Backdrop

G'day Mates,

For all of us modeling ore operations on the Great Lakes, I present the Great Lakes Ore Dock, a Railscenics background (click on the link, then click on the photo to enlarge it):

http://www.sojournsinnature.com/temp...s-Ore-Dock.jpg

I haven't scaled this to size yet (I normally don't do that until I get my first order.) but the RAW file stretches 16' x 2' high!!! (Of course, I could scale it down.) I could also, if you wished, add a Great Lakes Ore boat into the scene.

I stitched this sweeping panorama together from nine frames taken by my friend and photographer, Carol Seago, up in Duluth, MN. She knew the dock was slated to be razed sometime soon and she guessed I might be able to make a Railscenics backdrop out of it if she could only capture the entire dock in a series of photos. So she asked a friend to take her out in a boat so she could get a relatively flat perspective. Then she kindly sent me her RAW files so I could put them together into one of my Railscenics panaromas. Thank you Carol!!!

Enjoy and please let me know what you think.

WOW, what a pier. I would like to see that modelled by someone talented enough to do it. What an impact it would make on a layout.
